چکیده

ABSTRACT We present a multiwavelength study of the active nucleus and off-nuclear X-ray sources in nearby spiral galaxy, NGC 1365 using three simultaneous UV/X-ray observations by AstroSat over two months period archival IR performed with Spitzer Herschel. Utilizing data from Soft Telescope (SXT) onboard AstroSat, we find spectral variability mainly caused variation column density, (NH ∼ 1022–1023 cm−2). With accurate spatial resolution UVIT separate intrinsic AGN flux host galaxy emission then correct for Galactic internal reddening. detect no significant NUV observation period. The FUV band is undetectable due to heavy extinction. Further, IR/UV/X-ray SED reveals that low-luminosity phase accretion rate ∼0.01 LEdd. steady UV strong absorption suggest obscuring clouds are likely compact affect source only do not possibly cover extended emitting region. In addition, able resolve bright spots at radius 7 arcsec (∼6.3 Kpc) central South-West (SW) direction. image entire identify counterparts four Chandra identified sources. One well-known ultra-luminous (ULX) X2 its counterpart 86 North-East (NE) direction nucleus.

The ROSAT view of NGC 1365 and the luminous highly variable off-nuclear X-ray source NGC 1365–X1

We present an X-ray spectral and spatial analysis of the composite starburst/Seyfert galaxy NGC1365. Excellent fits of the ROSAT PSPC spectrum are obtained by combining a soft thermal component with a hard powerlaw. The hard component may be either seen directly or can be explained by scattering of the AGN powerlaw at circumnuclear warm high-column-density gas. A compilation of the multi-wavele...

The XMM - Newton long look of NGC 1365 : uncovering of the obscured X - ray source

We present an analysis of the extreme obscuration variability observed during an XMM-Newton 5-days continuous monitoring of the AGN in NGC 1365. The source was in a reflection-dominated state in the first ∼ 1.5 days, then a strong increase of the 7-10 keV emission was observed in ∼10 hours, followed by a symmetric decrease. The spectral analysis of the different states clearly shows that this v...

Occultation measurement of the size of the X - ray emitting region in the Active Galactic Nucleus of NGC 1365

We present an occultation of the central X-ray emitting region in the Seyfert Galaxy NGC 1365. This extreme spectral variation (from Compton-thin to reflection-dominated and back to Compton-thin in four days) has been caught in a ten days Chandra monitoring campaign consisting of six short (15 ks) observations performed every two days. We discuss the implications of this occultation within the ...

The complex radio and X - ray structure in the nuclear regions of the active galaxy NGC 1365

We present a multiwavelength analysis of the prominent active galaxy NGC1365, in particular looking at the radio and X-ray properties of the central regions of the galaxy. We analyse ROSAT (PSPC and HRI) observations of NGC1365, and discuss recent ASCA results. In addition to a number of point sources in the vicinity of NGC1365, we find a region of extended X-ray emission extending along the ce...

The hard X - ray properties of the Seyfert nucleus in NGC 1365

We present BeppoSAX observations of the Seyfert 1.8 galaxy NGC1365 in the 0.1–100 keV range. The source was 6 times brighter than during an ASCA observation 3 years earlier. The 4–10 keV flux is highly variable during the BeppoSAX observation, while the soft (0.1-4 keV) emission is constant within the errors. Both a cold and a warm reflector and a cold absorber are required to explain the obser...
